Colour Coding
The methodology behind the introduction of colour coding was to reduce the risk of cross-contamination during the cleaning process, by using different coloured materials and equipment for each designated area within a building.

We have a colour coded system in place that we have introduced into our contracts. This has proved to be successful, uncomplicated and easily identifiable.
We follow the BICSc guidelines on colour coding as follows
RED: for toilet areas
BLUE: for general cleaning
GREEN: for kitchen areas
YELLOW: for clinical areas
Supervisors and managers monitor the cleaning staff to ensure compliance to the system.
