Portable Appliance Testing, Repair and Maintenance

Lewis & Graves has its own fully trained electrical and mechanical repair and PAT section, headed up by Joe Brown. We carry out the PAT testing on all our equipment on an annual basis. All test results are recorded on computer and stored at head office.

Part of this department’s brief is to check on the standard and condition of the equipment when carrying out the PAT and if they see any signs of neglect or misuse they will report they findings to the appropriate area manager.

If a machine breaks down, the cleaner or supervisor will attach a fault label and isolate the machine and then report the problem to the repair section, giving a brief description of the problem, the type of machine and its location on site.

The engineer will place a spare machine on his van in case the repair cannot be carried out on-site. The replacement machine will be left in-situ to ensure we can maintain the standard and meet our contractual obligations.

Once the repair is complete, the machine will be re-tested then put back in to use.

All of our equipment is logged onto our tracker system; this gives us the location, full service and repair history for each piece of equipment.
